Collection of Live Clarinet Performances and Recordings

Clarinet Journey

My twelve-year clarinet voyage was under the guidance of Professor Tao Ran, the President of the Shenzhen Wind Music Association. I had the honor of serving as the principal clarinetist in the woodwind section of the University Student Art Troupe of Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai Campus, and also led as the principal clarinetist in the Shenzhen Middle School Symphony Orchestra. With the latter ensemble, I had the privilege of performing and engaging in cultural exchanges in Austria, Italy, and Japan, including a coveted invitation to perform at the prestigious Golden Hall in Vienna.

My personal accolades include securing the seventh national place in the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition and clinching the first place in the Shenzhen division of the Yamaha Clarinet Competition. The videos below feature performances from my university years and collaborative mini-projects recorded with friends.

About the Music

This is a recording of ‘Oblivion’ by Astor Piazzolla that I did with my friend Xinyi Liu. While playing, I imagined a scene of a solitary boat drifting in the vast ocean, eventually disappearing. I have also released this piece on the NetEase Cloud Music platform. I really enjoy listening to him read; it immerses me completely.
